About the work:
During the pandemic in Central Park, New York City, wildlife roamed freely due to fewer people. Studying the crane's movement for days, I captured this once-in-a-lifetime photo in just a few attempts.
I seldom do traditional wild-life work because I have no interest in the close-up details of the wild animals. There are plenty of excellent wild-life photographers out there and I do not want to repeat work has done. However, bird is an important motif in my work. They are the symbol of freedom to me, and sometimes they serve as anthropomorphic presence in the image. This work is about the action, but also about symmetry.
