"Homage to Rothko" Series, 2022 - 2025
The "Homage to Rothko" series draws inspiration from the mesmerizing work of Mark Rothko. While taking these photos, I aimed to evoke the textured, layered feeling of his paintings. By moving the camera vertically, I wove a canvas-like texture from the horizontal waves. Using techniques like Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and high ISO, I transformed seascapes into abstract blocks of color, echoing the simplicity and emotional depth of Rothko's signature style.
