I’ve long been drawn to the solitude of a single tree — but such trees are rare around me.
Like people, trees gather in groups, leaning into one another.
But at Waveny Park, one stands alone in the heart of a field.
From the slope below, all others disappear, leaving only its quiet outline.
When the sun began to set, I ran to that spot —
and let the light do the rest.
